Answer
Anna Håkansson Case Study
Anna needs to embrace key steps to realize the existing business opportunities in the diverse and exciting region in the Middle East. The first step she should take is understanding their calendar. Timing is crucial in the Middle East and there is a different working week in such countries (Moore 85). For instance, Islam considers Friday a holy day with prayers scheduled at noon. The second step that Anna should consider is learning about the common greetings in the Middle East. Arabs take pride in their language since the Arabic used originates from the Holy Qur’an. Anna must therefore strive to learn simple greetings in Arabic, to facilitate her friendly connection with the people she will be meeting during her visit. (Business Studies Paper)
Anna must also be well conversant with the dressing code in the Middle East. She should consider carrying along conservative dressing styles, which can cover her arms to the elbow, legs to her ankles and most importantly, avoiding showing her cleavage (Moore 25). Most societies in Arab value outward appearance, hence Anna must invest in her appearance and the quality of clothes she will wear to make a good impression.
The United Arab Emirates, particularly Dubai, will be interesting to visit due to the thriving international business opportunities. It is helpful to know the lawful and unlawful acts in Dubai, especially during the holy month of Ramadhan. One has to really find out what constitutes unlawful acts and dig deep into the trivial issues as well. These unanswered questions would be useful in enabling me to gain useful information that can protect me while in Dubai.
