There are many ailments commonly faced by the geriatric populations who constitute the elderly persons in society. These would include heart diseases, coronary diseases, dementia, Alzheimer’s, cancer, diabetes, and other ailments. It has been proven that it is stressful to take care of the elderly, mostly characterized by progressive disorders. There are many finances drained in their treatment, which also implicates the family by draining them emotionally, mentally, and psychologically. It is said that there are significant delays in family-based interventions for the demented elderly as would be compared to those of the younger generation. However, it is crucial to set interventions for caregivers within individual families who undergo psychoeducational and psychosocial programs to take care of the elderly (Campbell, Patterson, 1995).

            The psychoeducational intervention seeks to target families with adult patients and help them improve on theirpatient’s treatment managementto guide them to manage progressive illnesses, prevent recurrence and prolong mortality.
