The research paper should advance a thesis about the primary text (The Ballot or The Bullet) and provides evidence and reasoning to persuade the reader of its claim. The argument should be from the analysis of the primary source (The Ballot or The Bullet speech), and extended and refined by application of 4 scholarly secondary sources. In addition, the acknowledgement of other secondary sources that help develop the argument or which provide useful context. A complete Works Cited must accompany the paper. There should have at least 4 scholarly secondary sources and no internet sources
