Answer:

The impact of globalization in the early twenty first century

Globalization remains one of the most talked-about issues in the early twenty-first century. It has impacted on virtually all areas of human endeavor. Berberoglu indicates that it has led to increased interdependence in areas of trade, education, technology, and politics (16). This paper assesses the impact of globalization in the early twenty-first on three areas; namely international relations, cultural integration, and migration.

Globalization has greatly contributed to improvement in international relations at the turn of the twenty-first century. According to Berberoglu, the current globalization wave has led to a transformation of the global economy (72). The transformation has been so significant that the third world has become a crucial part of international politics.

The impact of globalization is evident in the major changes that have occurred in the world economy. There is a lively global discussion on various economic, political, and social issues affecting international relations in the contemporary world. Whenever such issues are elevated through discussions, various actors in international relations contribute to the process of solving the most pressing problems facing the world.

Globalization has also led to the emergence of a global village. In this global village, there is a greater understanding of the complexities in social, economic, and political ideologies prevailing in different parts of the world. This understanding creates tolerance of cultural differences. During the early twenty-first century, tolerance of these differences greatly contributed to cultural integration. Despite cultural differences, millions of people from different parts of the world are now able to engage in social discourse through the social media as well as engage in mutually beneficial trading activities.

In Berberoglu’s view, globalization is one of the main phenomena that have contributed to increased migration during the twenty-first century (103). Globalization has increased real-time communication through electronic communication. Moreover, interactions at the international level via the social media have redefined family and individual identities across countries As people communicate more often, they get access to greater opportunities for migration. In conclusion, globalization has impacted on the world in the early twenty-first century in three main ways: international relations, cultural integration, and increased migration.
